Turbines will ruin this Cumbrian idyll

This is where three wind turbines are planned to be built – at nearly 400ft high.

The turbines are close to houses and will be detrimental to the village of Great Broughton.

Surely the windfarm zone off the Cumbrian coast that will cover 858sq miles is adequate for Cumbria’s contribution to renewables?

The blades act as massive scarecrows to some bird breeds, and are detrimental to this wonderful landscape. In addition, the body concerned with aircraft operating in controlled airspace, has objections that include; “a reduction in the radar’s probability of detection, for real targets, is also expected.”

I am devastated that this vandalism may be accepted by the planners.

Note: Consultation and ability to object to Allerdale Council ends on Tuesday.
