Carlisle school’s lottery vote
Last updated 09:58, Friday, 07 November 2008
A Carlisle school’s bid for lottery cash to help build outdoor classrooms will be put to the public vote.
St Margaret Mary’s School in Upperby is hoping that it can clinch £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.
Its bid is forming part of The People’s Millions feature voted for by ITV local news viewers.
The school is hoping to win the money so it can develop some of its grounds to create new learning areas for its 225 pupils.
A camera crew is expected to visit the school next week to film before the bid is aired on November 24.
St Margaret Mary’s School, which celebrated its 70th anniversary recently, will be up against a bid from the Watchtree Nature Reserve.
The one that receives the most votes will then be declared the winner and will be offered a grant.
