School pupils make beastly new friends – including The Dude

A scorpion, bearded dragon and hissing cockroaches were the latest additions to Bolton Low Houses CE School this week.

Infant pupils from the school near Wigton handled the mini beasts on Tuesday, which also included snakes and a tarantula.
Headteacher Amanda Pitcher said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed it.
“They especially enjoyed the bearded dragon called The Dude because they got to see him catching little crickets and mealworms.”
The mini beasties came from Silverband Falconry in Penrith.
