Carlisle boys side travels to game – on England football team’s coach

They are used to travelling to games in the back of the family car, but on Sunday the Warwick Wanderers football team will travel in style – on the England national squad’s coach.
The boys from the under- 11s team will sit in plush leather seats usually occupied by stars such as Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Stevie Gerrard.
And up front at the head of the bus will be team manager Martyn Page, sitting in England boss Fabio Capello’s seat.
Mr Page, 40, won the England team bus for a day after entering a competition – the Stobarts Legends XI Fantasy Football Competition.
He said: “We are over the moon that we won this prize.
“The boys are just so excited. They usually travel to matches in their parents’ cars so this will be a real experience for them.
“Normal coaches usually have about 55 seats but this bus has only got 37. It’s got back-to-back seating, tables, TVs and DVDs. It’s a real luxury. ”
Warwick Wanderers Under-11s are taking on High Hesket in a league match at Clarks Field, near Morrisons, in the north of Carlisle.
Mr Page, who has coached the team for nearly two years, said: “They’re doing quite well at the moment. They’re in the Longhorn Under-11s League.
“We’ve got some surprises in store for the boys and I know they’re really excited because their parents have been telling me that they can’t concentrate on their school work.”
At the wheel will be the same driver who gets the England team to their games. The coach will arrive at Downagate, Warwick Bridge, at 9.30am on Sunday and leave at about 10.30am for Carlisle.
The game kicks off at noon.
The coach will tour Carlisle before the match and may have a police escort. In his all-time football legends team, Mr Page chose Peter Schmeichel as goalkeeper; Marcos Evangelista de Morses (Cafu) at right back; Paolo Maldini right centre; Bobby Moore left centre; Roberto Carlos left back; George Best right wing; Johann Cruyff right midfield; Maradona left midfield; Lionel Messi left wing; and Pele and Thierry Henry up front.
The caption that went with it was: “Eight nations represented – you have skill, speed and sheer brilliance, a truly mouth-watering team.”
