PLANS to erect a new totem sign at a proposed gas storage facility near Workington have been submitted to Cumberland Council.
The application is for a site at Discovery Park in in Lillyhall and according to the submission it would consist of a fabricated aluminium panel detailing the business name with a maximum height of 3.9m.
According to the planning application the panel would measure 1m high by 1.5m wide and colours would be red, white and black.
And the 2.9m high post would be made from 100mm SHS steel with a base plate anchored to a concrete pad.
According to a covering letter, there is a separate planning application for the use of the land as a storage and distribution centre for bottled gas together.
It requested the siting of one liquid nitrogen tank, a new access road, associated parking, lighting, landscaping and engineering works.
The letter states: "Part of the proposals are the display of an advert, which was not included in the full planning application. This application seeks consent for the display of that advertisement."
The application is currently being considered by planning officers at the council.
