PLANS have been put forward for a vehicle body shop and two valet bays in Penrith.

The application, with external parking, was submitted to Westmorland & Furness Planning Authority on March 18, 2024.

The proposal, on grassland next to Cowper Road, has been put forward by Penrith Body Repairs.

It will be located directly opposite Lloyd Ltd.

The application proposes 25 full-time employees, building upon their existing 15.

The design and access statement reads: "The application site is within an established retail industrial estate just outside of the town centre.

"The proposed development proposes to enhance the site and local area by providing a new vehicle body repair facility.

"Alongside two separate wash bays, the proposal includes customer and compound parking."

77 car parking spaces are included in the proposal.

Its proposed hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The body repair shop will span an area of 2,380m2 if given the go-ahead.
