AN artist is set to raise money for a local charity with his new exhibition.

The 'Fells and Flowers' exhibition will be held in support of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland by artists Michael Batey and his wife Anne between Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 at Dalston's Ellers Mill.

Michael and Anne will donate 10 per cent of the exhibition's profits to the charity with further funds set to be raised by the Hospice at Home team who will be running a refreshments table at the event.

News and Star: This will be the third time Michael has helped raise funds for the local charity, with his 'Homelands' and 'Cumberland' exhibitions raising over £5,500.

Ahead of the exhibition, Michael expressed he is 'extremely honoured' to support the local charity again.

He said: “We are extremely honoured to be supporting Hospice at Home again as such a very worthy charity who do so much for the people of Cumberland."

Jenny Urwin is a Hospice at Home fundraiser and was on hand to thank Michael for supporting the charity with his latest exhibition.

News and Star: She said: "We are so humbled that Michael and Anne have chosen us again as beneficiaries for their art exhibition.

"Having grown up in Dalston, Michael shares that powerful Cumbrian neighbourly mindset that we are so lucky to witness from our supporters.

"Michael and Anne want to help benefit those in need by sharing their artistic skill and we can’t thank them enough for that."
