NEW signage will go up at a Carlisle hospital which relate to a new ANPR system in the car park.
North Cumbria Integrated NHS Foundation Trust had applied for planning permission for the project and this month Cumberland Council approved the application.
The replacement signs would not be illuminated and be placed in a new car parking area following a reconfiguration of areas of existing areas of parking at Cumberland Infirmary in Newtown Road.
It follows the installation of ANPR cameras, pay stations and the reorganisation of car parking kiosks.
There are currently 1,066 parking spaces at the site and, following the car park reorganisation there will be 1093.
According to the decision notice consent has been granted subject to a number of conditions including that any signs are maintained in a condition that does not impair the visual amenity of the site and does not endanger the public.
