A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads and ordered to complete unpaid work.

Briar Adair, 32, was driving a Ford Fiesta on Hilton Terrace in Whitehaven on Saturday, March 16.

A breath test showed she had 66mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit to drive is 35mcg.

Adair, of Hugh Street, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit.

Magistrates sitting in Workington banned Adair from driving for 22 months, to be reduced by 22 weeks if she completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.

She was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and five rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Adair was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
