People living in Cumbria who wish to vote in the upcoming police, fire and crime commission (PFCC) elections must register to vote in the next week.
The deadline for people to register to vote for the election on May 2 is Tuesday, April 16.
Registering to vote is simple to do and can be done online.
There are three candidates who have put their hat in the ring to replace current PFCC, Peter McCall, who is stepping down from the role after eight years.
Current deputy PFCC, Mike Johnson is standing for the Conservatives, David Allen is standing for Labour and Adrian Waite for the Liberal Democrats.
