A POLICE officer will face allegations of sexually touching a person’s buttocks against their will at a public hearing into his alleged misconduct next month.
Cumbria Constabulary’s PC2032 Matthews is alleged to have, on October 2, 2021, while off-duty in Keswick town centre, touched the buttocks of an adult female with his hand.
It is alleged that this touching was intentional, sexual, and without the consent of the person.
It is further alleged that this conduct, if proven, amounts to gross misconduct and is so serious as to justify dismissal.
The hearing will be held in public at Cumbria Constabulary’s Penrith HQ on June 12, 13 and 14.
