Around the clubs

ASPATRIA YFC: There was a good turn out of members to the first stock judging meeting on Tuesday. Thanks go to Messrs Steel of Dundraw for hosting and Andrew Carter for being the Master Judge.

The Results for Holstein Cattle were as follows:

Junior 1= Julie Hurst; 1= Joanne Holiday, 3, Emily Huntington. Intermediate 1, Anita Graham; 2, Philip Mattinson; 3= Edwin Holiday; 3= Paul Storr. Senior 1, Sarah Eve.

The next meeting is at the rugby club on Tuesday April 8 to discuss field day, 7.30pm.

CALDBECK YFC: Congratulations to our Junior Public Speakers – Emma Armstrong, Sarah Gate and Laura Potts who came second at Northern Area and now go forward to Nationals at Stafford in October.

LONGTOWN YFC: Many thanks to the Davidson family for hosting the stock judging evening last night.

The next meeting will be a stock judging event at Englishtown on Tuesday April 8 by the kind permission of the Taylor family. Please either meet at the venue at 7pm or 6.45pm Graham Arms.

The annual club rally will be held at Justicetown Farm, Westlinton on April 13, all welcome. Any questions please contact Gill, Richard or Suzy.

RAUGHTON HEAD YFC: Well done to everyone who took part in the Northern Area Final of the Entertainment Competition and coming first. The next round is the national semi finals at Retford on April 13. All support welcome. If you would like to come on the supporters bus contact Richard 07900 565306 or Lisa 07733 317932.

Well done to the Club Promotions and Football team who also came first at Northern Area and are through to the National Finals.

SKELTON YFC: Skelton YFC members travelled to the Northern Area weekend on Saturday when members competed for Cumbria in the three competitions: Stars in their Eyes, Brainstrust and Entertainments. Well done to everyone who took part in a very enjoyable weekend and thank you to all our supporters who made the journey.

Skelton Pool team competed in the Northern District Final held at Wigton Rugby Club and came away as runners up.

We are starting to get busy preparing for the field day and are holding our first stock judging on Tuesday April 8 at 7.30pm at Piggs of Linewath, Hutton Roof – everyone welcome – meet at Hutton End for lifts at 7pm.

WIGTON YFC: On Wednesday April 9 we are having a business and field day meeting at the Stocksman at 7.30pm. Can everyone please attend?
