Around the clubs

ASPATRIA YFC: Thanks to Mr and Mrs Armstrong and Mr and Mrs Graham for teaching members how to dance.

The next meeting is on April 1 at Messrs Steel, The Laurels, Dundraw for dairy stock-judging.

BRAMPTON YFC: Next meeting ion March 25 at the Golden Fleece, Ruleholme, at 7.30pm, to present last year’s trophies. Everybody is welcome for sandwiches and dancing – £2. Please let Sarah or Heather know.

Well done to Brampton who won the challenge night at Cockermouth.

CALDBECK YFC: The club welcomed ND president Pete Holliday, ND chairman Neil Brough and county chairman, Graham Holliday and members of the advisory to their AGM.

The following were elected: president, Alan Coulthard; vice-president, Margaret Brough; chairman, James Brough; vice chairman, John Harrington; secretary, Richard Ridley; treasurer, Matthew Ridley; club leaders, Ann Armstrong, Richard Brough; scrap book, Christina Coulthard.

Ann Armstrong presented the following awards: best junior member, John Wilde, Laura Potts; best competing boy, Robert Marrs, Robert Todd; best competing girl, Emma Armstrong, Susan Pattinson, Kelly Armstrong, Christina Coulthard; best oncoming member, Sarah Gate, Andrew Bell, Ben Wilde; best overall member, Richard Ridley.

RAUGHTON HEAD YFC: Our and Skelton YFC’s ‘Entertainment Charity Performance’ is on March 26 at 7.30pm.

Well done for getting to the Northern Area Finals on March 29 at Blackpool.

WIGTON YFC: On March 26 we are holding an ‘egg dumping’ competition at the Stocksman at 7.30pm followed by a business meeting. Please bring a hard-boiled egg.

Those who still owe for rugby shirt and membership please pay at this meeting. All members to attend.
