TOTAL FORWARD 961 sheep sold including 103 ewes with lambs at foot, 84 spring lambs, 238 lightweight hoggs, 304 prime hoggs and 232 cast ewes & rams.

Top price per kilo for spring lambs went to J C Bainbridge & Son, Bonnygate whose Beltex x made 197.40p to Welsh Country Foods. In the hogg section Messrs A M & H V Brown, Beechwood House topped at 161.4p, selling to Mr A Atkinson. Ewes were dearer on the week by £3 per head.

At the annual prize show and sale of Greyface hoggs with lambs at foot there was a larger entry than usual. Quality was excellent.

Prizes were generously sponsored by Nutrivet C & F.
