Lakeside land is sold

A SMALL piece of land on the edge of Ullswater sold for £18,376 an acre at auction, 40 per cent more than the guide.
Almost five acres at Watermillock sold for £86,000 at last Thursday’s auction held on behalf of the Howard family at Parkin Memorial Hall, Pooley Bridge.
The pasture land comes with 110m of lake frontage onto Ullswater.
Peter Bascombe, of PFK Land Agency, which conducted the sale, said: “It is comforting that many people are being confident and positive about purchasing land in the locality despite some uncertainty nationally in the residential market.”
