Petrol bomb thrown in garden

POLICE are appealing for information after a petrol bomb was hurled into a garden in Silloth.

A bottle filled with petrol was set alight and thrown into the back garden of a house in The Crofts in the town at about 11pm last Friday.

However, the bottle did not explode after landing in the garden, and the petrol burned out where it landed. This meant that it did not cause any serious damage to the property.

Officers searched the area, and are treating the incident as an attempted arson.

Anyone with information should contact police on 0845 33 00 247.
