We don’t want toilet talk here, you know

MAYBE it’s just the British who do toilet humour.

In the rest of Europe they scratch their heads and ponder Brits’ comedic obsession with all things lavatorial.

If any excuse were needed to continue this proud tradition, along came World Toilet Day.

The News & Star was sent some useful information about this momentous occasion, reminding us not to forget World Toilet Day – coming up on Monday, November 17.

Then a correction arrived: “Our sincere apologies. In the press release we sent you yesterday, we said that World Toilet Day is on Monday November 17. It is, of course, as everyone knows, Wednesday, November 19.

“Apologies for any in-convenience.”

Congratulations to Alison Gehring, marketing executive with the Royal Society for Public Health, for that “in-convenience” pun.

She must be feeling flushed with success but let’s hope this is no flash in the pan.

Thank you very much, you’ve been a lovely audience.
