Guilty must pay for death

Congratulations, once again, to Anne Pickles for an excellently written, thought provoking, sober and succinct feature concerning the 17-month-old child known as Baby P in order to protect – as if protection is necessary – his truly worthless and squalid parents (News & Star, November 18).

Challenges: Children’s services are under scrutiny as never before in the wake of Baby P’s death

When I read of this vile murder of this child, in the care of by utterly feckless people and apparently living in squalor, I was outraged.

As a senior social worker and the police attempted, this innocent little boy should have been instantly moved into secure care at the first signs of severe ill treatment; had he been so, he would probably be alive today.

Their guilt with be with them for the rest of their miserable lives.

  • I agree with the comments in the News & Star on the death of Baby P. Nothing is ever done about such things and there is too much of this going on.

In cases like this they should bring back capital punishment, but it’s too good for them. They should be made to suffer like this poor little baby and Victoria before him and countless others.
