Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance shared £7,000 from the two-day July festival, which saw more than 75 bands perform at Wellington Farm.

Festival organisers handed over the money at the weekend.

CockRock was set up by Chris Smithson and friends in 2004 when their friend Cameron Wood damaged his spine in a cycling accident and had to be rescued by the Great North Air Ambulance.

The group came up with the idea of a non-profit, annual rock festival with all proceeds going to the two charities. Last year, the festival raised £10,000, and since starting they have collected £22,000 for the two charities.
