Carlisle City 1 Walker Central 1: Current league champions Walker Central took a shock lead in the 17th minute when leading scorer David Thompson snapped up a short back pass and fired past the helpless City’s veteran keeper Stephen Bellas.
City stepped up the tempo after the restart as Chris Kelleher had a goal disallowed after narrowly been judged offside but he struck again on the hour finishing off Ian Cummersky's well flighted free kick.
It was end to end stuff in the closing stages with neither side managing a breakthrough as the final whistle came with both sides having to settle for a share of the spoils.
Carlisle City: Bellas, Foster, Yallup, Hetherington, Barclay, Simpson, Heath, Cummersky, Wilson, Coulthard & Kelleher. Subs: Burton, Cawson, Ward, Bulman & Watson.
Gillford Park 2 Harraby CC 2 (Gillford won on pens): With a semi-final place at stake, this local derby set off at a cracking pace.
Sub Roy Holliday was soon into action when he provided Rob Bainbridge with a chance from within the area and although Armstrong parried the shot, Holliday was on hand to knock the loose ball home for the opening goal.
The lead barely lasted a minute as Dale Armstrong, Mark Armstrong and Ian Grainger combined to feed Chris Grainger who lobbed the ball over Casson for the equaliser. Harraby took the lead on the hour when Combe was allowed to rise and head home a corner kick at the back post.
Mark Armstrong found time and space on the edge of the box to volley the ball into the roof of the net in the 84th minute and take the tie into extra time.
With neither side having claimed a winning goal in the 30-minute added period although Steve Skinner had a deflected shot chalked off for an offside infringement.
But Gillford Park claimed the tie with a 3-1 penalty shoot-out win after Chris Grainger, Kyle Armstrong and Ian Grainger converted their spot-kicks with the only reply coming from Matthew Blake.
Gillford Park: G. Armstrong, Thompson, D. Armstrong, M. Armstrong, Taylor, Butler, Johnstone, I. Grainger, Riding, C. Grainger & Skinner. Subs: J. Wood, M. Wood, K. Armstrong, Williams & Lang.
