Caution for drugs dietician

A WEST Cumbrian dietician was cautioned by a health body this week after being convicted of possession of cocaine, cannabis and date rape drug GHB

William Williams has been issued with the caution by the Health Professions Council after the convictions in April 2007.

The health council’s caution, which will remain on his professional registration for three years, has been released only this week.

The council’s decision states that while Williams, who was living at Muncaster Road, Whitehaven, at the time, was employed as a dietician by Cumbria Primary Care Trust, he was charged and convicted on three counts of possession of controlled drugs contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

A spokesman for the trust said Williams no longer worked for them.
