Michael Reed scored a super hat-trick in this outstanding performance from Penrith.
This second round league cup-tie was preceded by a minute’s silence in memory of Brooks Mileson who sponsored the Northern League for several years and also supported Penrith financially until recently.
Penrith went ahead in the ninth minute when, after a neat build-up, the Hebburn defence failed to clear and Reed scored from close range.
He added his second goal on 18 minutes when he converted a superb cross from Dean Douglas.
Penrith were dominating the game and they scored the best goal of the match on 39 minutes. Michael Brown won the ball in midfield and fed Douglas who returned the ball to Brown, who finished with a cracking shot from25 yards.
A minute from the interval, a cross from the left was dummied by Dan Robinson and David Lynn finished in style to make the scoreline 4-0 to Penrith.
Matty Lee replaced Phil Thornton at the interval and the pattern of the first half was quickly repeated.
Within five minutes of the restart Dan Robinson had added to the lead with a crisp shot from the edge of the box.
Two minutes Reed completed his hat-trick from close range again after a neat build up.
David Lynn suffered a nasty leg injury on the hour and was replaced by Richard Prokas and midway through the half Ryan Errington replaced Reid.
Hebburn strove for a consolation goal and Armstrong fired wastefully over from close range on 85 minutes but just on the final whistle Nesbitt converted a rare chance for visitors.
