Whitehaven players are going into the heart of the community to do their strength training for the up and coming season.
The club have struck a deal with the West Coast Community and Fitness centre, on Mirehouse, for them to use it as their gym base for the season.
And coach Ged Stokes is looking forward to putting his players through their paces there, in individual and group sessions.
“This has got everything we need in a gym, it is also local and a really good place for us to be,” said Stokes.
“It is right in the middle of the rugby league community, as well as bring a good facility.
“We do have a small gym at the ground but with the numbers we have training it is proving difficult to accommodate them there.”
Stokes will call his players back in to pre-season training at the end of the second week in November.
But first the players will head for the club’s annual presentation night, which takes place on November 7, at the Recre and supporters are invited along to celebrate the team’s successes this season. Tickets, available at the ground, cost £15 each
