In-form Penrith at full-strength

PENRITH will be aiming to build on their recent momentum when they travel to struggling South Shields tomorrow (3pm ko).

A five-goal hammering of Bedlington Terriers last weekend saw Penrith maintain their fourth place in Division One of the Northern League.

“We dominated the game and it was sweet revenge for the last time the two sides met, Terriers winning 6-0,” said Penrith’s joint-coach James Tose.

“It was as excellent performance led by inspirational midfielder Dean Douglas.

“We were only 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go and sent on centre-half Wayne Robinson to play up front. His physical presence caused all sorts of problems in the Shields’ defence and we wrapped the game up with another three goals.

“We’re now looking to push on and climb up the table. The lads have shown some great form and their attitude before every game has been tremendous.”

Tose and fellow joint-manager Richard Prokas will have a full-strength squad to select from, and Tose added: “The midweek game was called off and that enabled a few of the players, who were carrying niggles, to get right for tomorrow.”
