In the second half the home side came out better and re-took the lead when Liam Williamson once again scored direct from a corner.

Dearham fought back but coudn’t score and the game was clinched when Reece Weaver scored for Workington.

Jack Parker was Dearham’s top player while Williamson excelled for Workington.

Cleator MC 0

Dearham Rangers A 1

In the U10 league all eyes were on this clash and once again it was Dearham that came away with the honours.

Cleator started the stronger side and put Rangers under all kinds of pressure but keeper Callum Irving pulled off some outstanding saves to keep the score 0-0 at the break.

The second half started with Cleator continuing to press but Rangers started to look dangerous on the counter attack.

Rangers’ Lewis Brown played the ball out to Macauley Hannah who in turn sprinted down the wing and unleashed a fierce left-footed driver into the bottom corner of the net leaving Cleator keeper Mark Miller no chance.

Cleator tried desperately to equalise, pouring forward at every available opportunity, but Rangers’ rock-solid defence of Connor Gilmour and Matthew Suddart never faulted and the final score remained 1-0.
