Peter Fulton, who works for national company abv Training Ltd at its Carlisle office, trains employees in pubs, hotels and restaurants across the north west.

His work has been recognised with a nomination for Professional Trainer of the Year in the National Innkeeping Training Awards.

It represents a rare double for Mr Fulton, who won the title in 2006.

It is also the fifth consecutive year abv Training Ltd has been represented at the finals.

Mr Fulton said: “I am delighted to be going back to the awards to have another shot at the title.

“I’m competing against seven great trainers for this year’s award.”

The annual awards, now in their 18th year, draw entries from across the UK, with the Professional Trainer category one of the hardest fought.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in January.

abv Training Ltd was formed in 2001 and operates from two offices – in Carlisle and Stone, in Staffordshire.

The firm delivers courses and qualifications to the licensed and hospitality industry across the UK.

It runs up to 12 courses a week including the BIIAB National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH).

The firm runs programmes for managers, supervisors and front line team staff.
