Andrew Johnston CD One Voice is number four in UK top 40 album chart

One Voice, the new album by Carlisle teenager Andrew Johnston, has charted at number FOUR in the official UK top 40 album chart.
The choirboy's classical CD - recorded following his success on the TV show Britain's Got Talent - is higher than releases by superstar acts including Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls and Metallica.
It has also charted far higher than new offerings from Seasick Steve, Jonas Brothers and Travis.
Only long players by the Kings of Leon - who hang on to the number one spot - and new releases by Will Young and James Morrison are above him.
One Voice was released on Monday after Andrew signed a lucrative deal with music mogul Simon Cowell.
By midweek, his record company was staggered by its sales - putting him among some of the biggest names in the music business at number five in the midweek album chart.
Demand for the 14-year-old’s album was such that some shops in Carlisle had reportedly sold out by Tuesday.
Since appearing on BGT and winning his deal with Cowell – who has also nurtured the careers of the likes of Leona Lewis and Will Young – Andrew has sung for West End legend Andrew Lloyd Webber and caught the eye of US television host Oprah Winfrey, who wants him to fly to Chicago and perform on her show.
Tracks on One Voice include his rendition of Pie Jesu, Eric Clapton’s Tears In Heaven and Walking In the Air, from the soundtrack of The Snowman.
