Tose blast for Penrith

PENRITH joint boss James Tose blasted his side’s defending in the midweek 3-3 draw with Morpeth – and demanded an improvement for tomorrow’s FA Vase tie with Squires Gate.
The Blues battled back after finding themselves trailing 3-0 after just 23 minutes in Tuesday night’s Northern League clash and Tose admits they can’t risk that in tomorrow’s first-round clash at the World Group Stadium.
He said: “We showed fantastic character to get back into the game but our defensive qualities were unacceptable. We can’t allow ourselves go 3-0 down and have to fight back.
“In the end their manager said he couldn’t wait for the final whistle as it looked as if we were going to snatch a win.”
Fit-again midfielders David Lynn and Mike Brown are both vying to return against North West Counties League side Squires Gate.
Penrith host Seaham Red Star on Tuesday night (7.30pm) unless tomorrow’s game goes to a replay.
