Jamie does the trick for City six-shooters

Cramlington 1 Carlisle City 6

JAMIE HEATH grabbed a hat-trick as Carlisle City brought in the young guns after last week’s horror show.

City, who made seven changes, flew out of the blocks and took a 16th minute lead through Heath from Chris Kelleher's cross.

Then A brilliant fingertip save by Jordan English denied the home side but he had no chance to prevent Paul Joyce’s 30-yard volley finding the top corner in the 18th minute.

City regained the lead in the 29th minute when Ian Cummersky's drive was parried by the keeper and Craig Wood followed up to score, and City went further ahead in the 37th minute as Johnny Simpson's long ball found Steve Bell who made no mistake with his shot that gave his side a two-goal cushion at the break.

With City still having the lion’s share of the play after the restart, they continued to create and take their chances when Jamie Heath notched his second in the 52nd minute and seven minutes from the end Kelleher pounced on a slack back pass to add number five.

Then in the dying seconds Heath's drive was misjudged by the home keeper who conceded the sixth and final goal that allowed heath to complete his first hat-trick for City.

Gillford Park 1 Ponteland Utd 0

COOL Steve Skinner broke the deadlock from the spot – after a super penalty save from keeper Jack Twentyman foiled Ponteland.

Skinner had almost opened in the first half when drove in a low shot which visiting keeper Michael Havelock spilled but luckily he managed to recover and smother the follow up by Ian Johnstone.

The second half was the tale of the two penalties. A shot driven into the home area in the 50th minute by visiting skipper Craig Brown was handled and Liam McIvor stepped up to strike the ball to his left from the spot but Twentyman at full stretch turned the ball round the post.

A good move from Skinner in the 57th minute set Stuart Moffat free on the right and as he cut inside and past Glen Ford he was tripped from behind and Skinner showed his opponents how it should be done as he struck the ball straight down the mid

Newcastle Uni 2 Harraby CC 4

A SUPER strike from Jason Coulthard and a Lee Otway double gave the students a lesson in finishing

Harraby opened in 23 minutes when Mike Swift sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot after the ball was handled in the area.

The second period saw Harraby up the tempo as their passing game finally clicked into gear and after a lot of pressure Coulthard’s threaded pass in the 55th minute put Alan Casey clear.

Although the keeper blocked his initial shot, he was first to react to chip the ball across goal for Otway to plant a firm header into the net.

Three minutes later Coulthard hit a spectacular overhead kick over the keeper into the far top corner.

Harraby then increased their lead after 65 minutes when James Earl fed Otway who ran across the edge of the penalty area beating two defenders before placing his shot beyond the home keepers despairing dive into the far corner.

Chris Musonda snatched a consolation goal for the students.

Harraby CC: Watkinson, James, Coulthard, Wallace, M. Swift, Casey, B. Swift. Earl, Otway, Bainbridge & Shiel. Subs: Routledge, Rogers, Combe & Lamonby.
