TEENAGE running sensation Laura Park, pictured, has added a world championship to her growing list of honours.
Though still only 16, she raced to victory in the U20 women’s race in the World Mountain Running Championships.
Against the world’s best mountain athletes she crossed the line 100 metres ahead of her nearest challenger.
The Dearham girl, a member of Maryport-based Ellenborough AC, covered the 4,270m course, which included 1,000 feet of ascent, in 22 minutes 34 seconds.
Park was representing England and led the way to team gold for the U20 squad.
England’s Heather Timmins and Hannah Bateson finished seventh and 11th to complete the winning team line-up.
