Sloppy Carlisle City are hit for six

Carlisle City 2 Shankhouse 6: The weather continued to play havoc with the Northern Alliance fixtures and 75% of the scheduled games were washed-out.

Carlisle City were one of only four to survive in the Premier Division but they were no match for Shankhouse.

The visitors were 2-0 down at the break through strikes by Chris Phillipson and James Blacklock. But City couldn't contain the Shankhouse attack conceding three more in the opening four minutes of the second half through Lee Gustard (2) and Craig Johnston.

Craig Wood reduced the leeway from a 55th minute penalty and Ian Cummersky punished a fumble by the substitute keeper in the 82nd minute to reduce the deficit further.

But it was the visitors who restored a four-goal margin when Johnston was again on target two minutes from the end to complete a humiliating defeat for City.
