City rain in goals

ONLY one game in the Tesco Cumberland County League survived the downpour – and Parton United probably wish it hadn’t.
Carlisle City hosted the West Cumbrians and ran out 9-1 winners in impressive fashion.
Parton might have thought it was going to turn out differently as they actually took the lead with a spectacular strike from ex-Workington forward Robert Ennis which was said to have been a candidate for goal of the month.
But Carlisle City came back from that early shock and ran riot with subsequent goals from Stephen Bell (4), Robin Ward (3), Tom McGuire and Mathew Green.
