National prize for manager

A SELLAFIELD manager has scooped a prestigious national award for his work.

Commercial and contract management director Steve Morgan won top prize in the Purchasing and Supply Management Professional of the Year awards, beating off competition from managers at the London Development Agency and Procurement for Housing.

Mr Morgan said: “I am thrilled to have won this award. Although it was presented to me as an individual, it is a group prize that couldn’t have been achieved without the input of the whole team.”

Dave Henderson, Sellafield’s supply chain ombudsman made it a double celebration after winning the Best Contribution to Corporate Responsibility award, beating off competition from Marks & Spencer and Royal Mail.

The awards, which are designed to celebrate and reward excellence in the field of purchasing and supply management, were presented at an awards dinner last Thursday at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Sellafield commercial manager Linda McLean was also nominated.
