Netherhall rattle in 14 against Silloth

Netherhall are setting a hot pace in the Tesco Cumberland County League Premier Division – as Silloth found out to their cost on Saturday.
The champions ran riot and finished winners by 14-1 with Karl Fillingham leading the way by scoring five with Keith Anderson not far behind on four.
The other goals came from Mark Smith, Craig Johnston, Chris Dawes, Dan Burgess and Will Heaney.
Adam Carr scored the only reply from Silloth who have started the season in poor shape.
Earlier, in the mid-week game Netherhall had beaten Whitehaven Miners 3-0 with goals from Anderson, Heaney and Fillingham.
Aspatria chased them hard last season and it looks as though they might be their hottest pursuers this time round.
On Wednesday they won 4-0 at Cleator Moor Celtic as Richard Hudson (2), Kenneth Bowes and Mark Irwin found the net.
They had to work harder for another away win on Saturday when a Kevin Thompson strike brought them a 1-0 win at Longtown.
Wednesday’s Premier Division clash between Mirehouse and Frizington White Star was postponed while in the other game Cockermouth edged a close encounter at Salterbeck, 2-1.
Andrew Rowntree scored for the Workington side but Cockermouth won with goals from Gavin Manchester and Martin Thompson.
Salterbeck had better luck on Saturday when they beat Frizington White Star 3-2 at Walker Road.
Scott Weston, Shaun Pilling and Scott Pears grabbed the important goals for Salterbeck as newly-promoted Frizington responded through Alan Blair and Barry Armfield.
Bransty Rangers have hot some good goal-scoring form in Division One and their two most recent matches produced ten goals.
On Wednesday they beat Parton United 6-3 with consistent Ryan Cornish hitting four of them, and he was joined on the sheet by Brian Armstrong and Gavin Bainbridge.
Parton Utd responded through Kyle Jenkins-Young, Stephen Nelson and Thomas Hodgson.
Then on Saturday they beat St. Bees 4-2. Cornish only managed one on this occasion but that took his haul to eleven in three games.
Luke Skinner was on target twice and Scott Smith also scored for Bransty.
St. Bees replied through Neil Woodburn who netted both their goals.
Parton United had better luck against Whitehaven AFC and shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Former Torquay and Workington star Robert Ennis hit both with Andrew Darling and Gary Hodgson on the mark for Whitehaven.
In their other match Whitehaven AFC went on the rampage, beating newcomers Wigton Athletic 11-1. Kevin Connolly (4), Andy Darling (3), Kevin Holliday (3) and Mark Moore netted the goals.
Also in the First Division St. Margaret Mary's and Carlisle City shared the points with a 1-1 draw. Carl Graham netted for the Saints with Ollie Driver responding for City.
St. Bees were 2-0 winners at Windscale with goals from Adam Jackson and Dan Tyre.
There was a big win for Hearts of Liddesdale in the A P and J Brown Divisional Cup as they hammered luckless Wigton Athletic 10-1.
The first round first leg tie was wrapped-up with goals by Daniel Brough (3), Adam Brough (3), Robert Copeland 2, Dean Thompson and Johnathan Knott.
A Mark Thompson own goal got Athletic on the score-sheet.
In round one of the CVR Whitehaven Cup Cockermouth got through 3-0 at Mirehouse but no scorers were relayed to the secretary.
Cleator Moor Celtic also made progress, winning 2-0 at Windscale with goals from Chris Mahone and John Telly.
Newcomers St. Margaret Marty’s pulled-off a shock, beating Wigton Harriers 2-1. Phil Hetherington and Brian Lawless scored the goals with Phil Waters on the mark for Wigton Harriers.
The match between Whitehaven Miners and Carlisle City was postponed.
