Pubs to get advice on noise laws

PUBS and clubs in Allerdale can get to grips with the latest legislation on noise at work at an event being held next week.

Allerdale Council is staging an advisory session for businesses on the new requirements for noise at work for businesses in the entertainment sector.

The Noise at Work Act 2005 is concerned with the noise exposure of employees whilst they are at work.

The council’s environmental health officers have been carrying out noise monitoring throughout the district over the last month and are inviting local businesses to come to them for advice on the requirements and on how to conduct a noise risk assessment.

The session will be held from 1pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday in the Lonsdale Room at Allerdale House, Workington.

It is open for all businesses concerned about the new requirement or health and safety matters in general.

For more information, or to attend, contact Allerdale Council’s Environmental Health team on 01900 702590.
