Association support for campaign

TWO Castles Housing Association is backing a campaign to stop tenants being over charged for fuel.
The National Housing Federation wants the energy minister to prevent housing association residents with pre pay meters paying higher prices for their gas and electricity.
The NHF is using Energy Action Week, which starts on Monday, as a way of highlighting the plight of low income families.
Two Castles’ housing services director Dave Armstrong said: “We have almost 900 properties in total across the north and a number of our residents do have pre payment energy meters supplying their gas and electricity.
“While pre payment meters have advantages, involving a pay as you go method for lower income residents, we certainly do not see why our residents should be penalised and have to pay more money for having one in their homes.
“Two Castles Housing Association fully supports the view of the NHF on this matter.”
The association has offices in Carlisle and Whitehaven.
