Reds boss calls for clean sheets

Workington Reds boss Darren Edmondson bemoaned the leaking of another set-piece goal despite their 4-1 romp over Burscough.
Town were 3-0 up at half time and were coasting with Burscough down to 10 men in the second half.
They moved up to 14th in the Blue Square North table but Edmondson said: “I told them at half-time I wasn’t over-concerned if they didn’t score again but I just did not want them to give anything away. It was important to keep a clean sheet.
“The lads were on a bit of a high after the game but I said I was disappointed over the Burscough goal.
“We have now conceded six goals from set-pieces with only one so far against us coming from open play. “I don’t want us to develop a complex over this but clearly we have to tighten up in those areas.”
Jonny Wright (2), Tony Hopper and Anthony Wright scored the goals for Reds who were making amends for a disappointing defeat at Blyth on Saturday.
“Apart from the goal we gave away I thought we controlled the game virtually from the start and should have won with a bit more in hand.”
