Penrith murder accused in court

A PENRITH man has appeared before magistrates charged with murdering his wife.
Forty-six-year-old Robert Davidson appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court at 11 am today, accused of stabbing his wife Judith to death at their home in White Ox Way. He has been held in police custody since Thursday night.
Davidson, who wearing a black jumper and flanked by two security guards, spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
Police confirmed that Mrs Davidson died from multiple stab wounds, after a post mortem on Friday afternoon.
They were called to the couple’s house at 7.20 pm on Thursday.
Speaking after today's hearing, senior investigating officer DCI Andy Slattery said: “Our sympathy goes out to the family at this time of their loss. We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances that have led to this.”
