FORMER world champion Gary Havelock will be riding for Workington Comets again at Derwent Park on Bank Holiday Monday as a number one guest.
Daniel Nermark has put back his intended return from injury for another week so team manager Ian Thomas has to book guests for both meetings with the Bandits.
Workington travel to Shielfield on Saturday but so far Thomas has been unable to come-up with a replacement for Nermark.
“It’s proving a bit difficult because of riders’ hectic commitments. I was going to try for Ulrich Ostergaard until I found out he was riding in a European final.
“I’ve been able to book ‘Havey’ for Monday. He went well at Derwent Park for Redcar last month and he did well enough when we had him in as a guest in the good home win against Somerset.
“He scored ten points for us and had two wins as well as being third in the nominated riders race,” said Thomas.
Saturday’s trip to Berwick is Workington’s final away fixture and after that they can concentrate on racking up the home wins which should guarantee them a place in the League play-offs.
Meanwhile Edinburgh boss John Campbell said the Monarchs' 14-point defeat at Workington on Saturday was by no means disastrous to their title aspirations.
Campbell said: “Their rider Kauko Nieminen looked world class for instance.
“We just have to shrug our shoulders and move on."
