RIGHT in the heart of our community is a substantial adult education provider – Whitehaven Adult Education.

We offer a wide range of courses, from short programmes designed to introduce learners to a subject right through to AS level programmes.

A major focus of our work is to support opportunities for local people to upskill for the workplace. We offer maths and English GCSEs which are important foundations to many available job opportunities. Our ICT- related programmes are extremely popular, from the traditional office IT applications to more specialised areas such as AutoCAD, web design and Photoshop. Over the past year a number of people have secured employment or promotion as a direct result of gaining one of our ICT-related qualifications.

This autumn we introduce the following new accredited courses AutoCAD III (to start March/April), the Diploma in Advanced Counselling, AS Performing Arts and GCSE Dance.
