St Begh’s CDC

REMEMBER, ‘today is the first day of the rest of your life’ – so do something positive now!

St Begh’s Community Development Centre is trying to promote the community element of learning, creating an environment where learning can be enjoyable and shared. Our computer sessions start in September and we are already taking bookings. They include beginners’ classes where you can learn the basics and get a certificate; CLAiT courses, which are especially good for small businesses; and the popular ECDL, recognised and expected by most employers.

We are also starting a few new ventures, such as a book reading/review club. Whitehaven Library are loaning us books for group reading and discussion.

We are also starting a ‘Trading Phrases’ group, where anyone who speaks different languages is invited to share ‘conversational phrases’ so we teach and learn together.

Becoming a confident person, building self-esteem and raising self- awareness is a third venture, in which the tutor will help you to change your way of thinking and grow in confidence, which is especially good for job interviews etc.

Involving the local community more is our main aim.
