Creighton land first trophy in a decade after 10s Border raid

CREIGHTON RUFC landed the Moffat 10s by beating Dumfries 10-0 in a closely-fought final.

It was the first piece of silverware for the Cumbria League outfit in over a decade.

In their first game, Creighton beat Langholm 19-0, before seeing off the hosts 12-7. Creighton’s Dan Greenslade won the player-of-the-tournament award, scoring five of his side’s seven tries and converting three. Simon Lofthouse, Tom Reed, Simon Turner, Paul Halliday and Matt Liddle all showed well for Creighton.

Langholm beat Newton Stewart to win the Plate event.
