Jason Doyle, star man for Somerset Rebels on recent engagements at Derwent Park, is ready to make a temporary switch to the Workington Comets.
The talented Aussie has been booked by Workington team boss Ian Thomas for next Saturday’s crunch top four clash with Edinburgh Monarchs.
Doyle, will be guesting for the injured Daniel Nermark who is planning to return to action their following week-end against Berwick.
Workington, of course, ride at Edinburgh on Monday night in front of the Sky cameras and the two matches will have an important bearing on where the two teams finish in the Premier League.
Thomas said: “As Somerset are also vying for top spot with Edinburgh Jason has added incentive to do well for us. He can help Somerset’s cause by picking up points for us.
“He has ridden very well at Derwent Park on previous visits this season and he produced the ride of the night last Saturday against us when he won despite having to go off a 15-metre handicap.”
But while everybody is gearing-up for the two matches with Edinburgh Thomas is reminding people that there are other Scots opposition before then. Workington entertain Glasgow at Derwent Park tonight.
