New equipment allows pupils and staff to record messages on discs and on a board. The equipment will be used by the pupils themselves.

Head of literacy, Helen Chilton, said they could be used in story telling, for pupils to evaluate each others’ and their own work, and to perform drama.

The donation came from the Ewanrigg Junior School Association which is made up of parents and staff who fund-raise for the school.

There are 11 parents and four staff on the association but learning mentor and association member Kay Dawson said that other parents would be welcome.
