THIS glorious summer of great content is continuing for Kendal's Simon Buckley, who has won his second Renault Jump in succession. GREENLANDSCALDEW RIDING CLUBCFHSCUMBRIA ENDURANCE RIDING GROUP
Riding his own nine-year-old grey gelding Worrior Van Dingeshof, Simon achieved one of only two double clears in the class.
Then in the jump off he knocked almost six seconds off the leading time. Simon's now a definite contender for the Renault car awarded to the rider with the most points at the end of the nine rounds.
Gail Smith and Zaffarin Z have qualified for HOYS after coming second in the 1.20 Amateur Classic Qualifier at South View.
The field was 154 strong and only 34 made it to the jump-off. Gail says they really had to go for it, taking all the short cuts and risks possible, but Zaffarin responded perfectly and jumped a superb fast round.
Gail was back in the ribbons with Zaffarin Z at the Area 14A show at Crooklands, winning the 1.30 Open.
With her own Onyx Star she also won the 1.15 Members Cup Scope Qualifier and came third in the 1.20, so a fantastic day for one of the county's best and most consistent riders.
Helena Pedrosa was also flying high at the same event. In the Juniors section, she won the Newcomers on her 13.2 pony Just the Two of Us and came second on Kind of Magic, her new 14.2. She also won the Foxhunter Class which was the Adventurer qualifier for Scope on Just the Two of Us.
The Cumberland Farmers Hunt South Branch of the Pony Club (CFHS) have been going great guns in recent weeks - quite literally!

The following weekend the CFHS were right back on winning form at the Area Tetrathlon competition at Bishop Auckland.

These three girls together with Ewan Shand from Westward, recently represented the North of England in the Pony Club Regional Tetrathlon, competing against Pony Club members from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Not to be outdone, the Cumberland Foxhounds Pony Club branch has also been faring well - first by taking second place in the Area quiz earlier this year.
The Senior team the won the Area Horse & Pony Care competition and qualified for the finals in August, where they'll be up against teams from all over the world.
The Games team qualified at Area for the Zones and were invited to Braham Horse Trials to do a demonstration with other Pony Clubs.
Cumbria Riding Club had an excellent turnout for their annual charity event on Sunday July 6, despite the changeable weather.
Helen Robinson's youngster Millstream Masquerade put on a fine show at this, her maiden Combined Training and first ever dressage, winning the Novice title from a class of 26.
Teenager Jenna Lamb from Gillgarran and her grey Warmblood/Shire cross, Starlight Dollars took the Intermediate trophy.
Steph Dolan, a newcomer to the Riding Club and her little grey Rockmore Impala shared first place in the Turn Out with Sarah Irvine.
