Wigton get the nod to raise the roof to the tune of £44k

WIGTON is among 19 clubs to benefit from the Rugby Football Foundation’s latest round of loans and grants approved at the June panel meeting.

The Lowmoor Road club is to get a £44,000 loan for a clubhouse roof replacement, which is part of the latest £222,857 payout.

The RFF, a charitable trust established by the Rugby Football Union, provides funding for capital projects at junior rugby clubs to support the recruitment and retention of players.

Since 2003 the RFF has distribute £10m in grants and loans, attracting an additional £16.46m in partnership funding.

The RFF Trustees have also approved a streamlined two-stage process for applications for interest free loans by clubs at Level Four and below in the English Clubs Championship who are identified as high priority within their Constituent Body Facility Plans.
