THE weather held long enough for over 100 boys and girls to take part in a friendly festival at the Sheepmount sponsored by E-on.

E-on is the FA’s National partner for education and once again has provided support to the Cumberland FA’s schools programme.

Boys and girls in years three and four took part in the festival from 10 local schools.

The matches were played in a round robin format with teams playing against schools of a similar size. No scores were taken, with participants concentrating on enjoying the matches rather than the results.

The Cumberland FA were also pleased to welcome members of the FA Skills Team who provided participants with skills challenges throughout the morning.

Volunteers were provided by the local Sports College, with young leaders refereeing matches and assisting the Skills Coaches.

All participants received a certificate and medal for their efforts during the festival and teachers also received information from E-on.

E-on also provided an Umbro playing strip for one lucky school.

A draw took place at the presentation and it was Belah School who were the recipients.
