3 weeks for airport plan

A FRESH application to upgrade Carlisle Airport will not be submitted for at least two to three weeks.
Haulage boss Andrew Tinkler chaired crisis talks yesterday aimed at rescuing his £35m plan to run freight and passenger services into the site and move the Eddie Stobart business there.
He had withdrawn the plan when the Government called a public inquiry two weeks ago.
Mr Tinkler said he will now take two to three weeks to “work out what the Government wants from us”.
The public inquiry was called because the Government questioned the justification for a business park at the airfield, saying there may be more suitable alternatives.
