New policing professor

THE UNIVERSITY of Cumbria has appointed a professor to the newly created institute of policing and criminal justice.
Allyson MacVean, who is an advisor to the Home Office on crime-related issues, will work with colleagues at the university to create a centre of excellence both for Cumbria and nationally.
The University of Cumbria recently announced its intention to offer a range of undergraduate courses in policing and criminal justice.
