I just can’t believe it!

I read the news of the new ownership of CUFC with great disappointment and disbelief.
The new ownership by four of the current directors is extremely boring, un-innovative, uninspiring, shows total lack of initiative, is unhealthy for the club and I very much hope that it can be challenged.
I also view this as an unsound business decision by Fred Story and wonder how much his decision is based on an endeavour to protect his £1.5m loan to CUFC.
A successful business needs to be headed by an dynamic individual, who is single minded, with drive, enthusiasm, inspiration, motivation, a keen business sense, able to show and give clear direction and supported by a challenging board.
What we have here looks more like Fred Story’s ‘jobs for the boys’!
It is repeated in the press release that they will continue with the same business model.
I would very much like to know more about what this is, as I firmly believe that the 2007/08 model did not include a serious desire for promotion to Championship football!
When our top scorer and highest ever player-investment was injured, well before the end of the season, and no loan player is brought in fill the role, this alone speaks negative volumes to me.
The limited squad we had continued with great courage and spirit to the end of the season, supported by magnificent, loyal fans but quite frankly the guys were burnt out as we approached the final months of the season.
This was very sad to see and did not look like a very good, promotion seeking, business plan to me.
We were not ready then for promotion and I still believe that we are currently not yet equipped for this challenge.
On that final point I look forward to being disproved!
I obviously wish the new board, whoever it will be, and my beloved home town football club, every success next season, and I shall be there to give my support at every opportunity.
Up the Blues!
